Taken from Cake's self-produced album “Comfort Eagle”, these tracks are smooth, groovy and even at times infectious (Note: nah, nah nah's) Everything you’d expect in a single, right? Vocalist John McRea's wry humour on “Short Skirt”, in particular, combined with the eclectic use of trumpet, funked-up bass and occasional country twang, produces a feeling of familiarity, demonstrating one thing… they haven’t strayed from the formula that defines Cake. Good band/average song. Cake fan's should love it, but I find it somewhat stale and lacking in substance.
