:: Always Got Tonight

Chris Isaak

Chris Isaak took the unusual step of cutting himself away into an isolated beachside hotel on the Hawaiian coast. He was able to collect all his thoughts and emotions towards crafting songs for this album. As a result, the soulful, guitar-crooning ways have been slightly modernised. He brings a rejuvenated style, partly due to forging collaboration with the clever producer John Shanks (worked with Stevie Nicks and Melissa Etheridge). Yet, one can still observe those Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison traits that have been synonymous with his style. Writing of fractured relationships is again strong in his thought processes. Isaak remains a polished performer and there are good instances of a harder-edged variation at times, particularly demonstrated by his backing band The Silvertones. Fans of Chris Isaak will gladly appreciate this album. And they will also be happy to know that he has announced a concert tour of Australia for the end of May.
