:: There Is A Way To Fly

Coda

This outfit hails from Sydney. They are a musical collective that mix styles – orchestral/electronica – to form a stylish, individual sound. Formed in 1994, the six-piece show a particular vitality and energy. Coda has spent the last twelve months recording this debut album under the banner of Silent Recordings. Naomi from Mick Hart’s band is a pleasant member of this collection of tracks, being an accomplished violinist, and adding much to the organic touch throughout. She plays alongside a viola and percussion to bring that emotion that strings bring to music. Such tracks to note are “Cabin Fever” and “Latin Quarter”. They showcase the flexibility of sound and ability of Coda. However, it’s not for everybody. All bar one track is instrumental and that can bring a mixed reaction at best. Rather like the other Sydney string quartet Fourplay, immerse yourself into the depths of what Coda present and you’re sure to get something out of these tracks.
