Dave Matthews Band

The Dave Matthews band is phenomenally successful in their home of the USA. They sell truckloads of CDs, always debut at #1, and are played on every radio station south of Alaska. However in Australia they’re practically unheard of – something I’m sure keeps them awake most nights! All this is a little peculiar seeing as how we usually lap up everything America says is good. However, the Dave Matthews band is definitely a step up from most similar bands. Highlights on this CD for me were “The Space Between” and “Dreams of Our Fathers”, which both feature some interesting musical arrangements. Throughout the album the rhythm section is faultless; credit must go to Carter Beauford (drums) and Stefano Lessard (bass) for their outstanding playing. Everyday is a pretty good, consistent release from an obviously accomplished outfit. It’s already selling millions in America, and it’s probably already fading into obscurity here – it’s nice to see nothing changes!
