Death In Vegas

I had only heard a glimpse of Death In Vegas from a couple of years ago, yet had no indication that they would now produce an album as brilliant as they have here. The title track springs to attention through the raspy vocal contribution by Oasis’ Liam Gallagher and it’s quite inspiring. Another track, “Killing Smile”, with its string arrangement, shows more adeptness, while “Hands Around My Throat” has monstrous vocals by Nicola Kuperus. “Help Yourself” builds to a wonderful crescendo. The album is dark and eclectic in parts but it knows how to stir emotions and demonstrates power. This is one of the best albums of 2002.
