Delta has shown from a very early age that she has enormous potential. This year has seen her catapult to the top of the singles chart and likewise with this album. Her debut sees the classically trained qualities brought to the forefront. She has a beautiful voice and the piano-backed ballads should appeal widely. It may be considered too ballady and soft for some, but there is something tangible with her music as opposed to several other pop performers. “Lost Without You” demonstrates her ability to carry and fulfil a song’s lyrics; a strong epic pop track, “Born To Try” was a good first up single. “Throw It Away” epitomises her maturing in lyrical content. There are no other very strong songs, but they give a solid foundation for what’s to come in the years ahead. A fine debut album.
