Elbow

The Manchester band was a revelation a couple of years ago with their first album “Asleep In The Back”. The band now continues from where they left off with a riveting and accomplished set of tracks. The style contrasts are captivating, from the gospel choir input on “Ribcage” to an eclectic “Crawling With Idiot”. They are just two instances where Elbow takes you into their special spell. They can pound or perforate their sound to whatever is necessary, and the two “Angel” songs – “Fallen Angel” and “Fugitive Angel” again demonstrates their versatility. I can only simply state that this is a “must listen” album of wonderful textures and balance. Give it a few listens and you’ll appreciate the great move forward that Elbow has achieved.
