If you were lucky enough to see Ember perform on her recent Australian tour, you would have felt enthused and uplifted by her glorious talent. Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Ember has released several albums in the last five years. This particular one is a live album of sixteen tracks. Hear a little of Ember and you might think of Ani DiFranco. But there is more substance and scope to Ember’s music. She has an engaging style, accompanied by her capable musicians, to ensure fulfilling entertainment. The crowd’s reaction says much for their love of Ember. There are smooth, inspiring vocals on several tracks, while she shows an ability to life the tempo substantially. A Latin rhythm track “Happiness Ball” is a great example of the wide-ranging talent she possesses. Another glorious vocal effort occurs with “Elbows”.
