Etienne De Crecy

Etienne has been a renowned French producer for a number of years and he provides us with more of a taste of his disco sample prowess in this debut solo album. “Am I Wrong”, the first single, is indicative of this theme. The rest of the album blends some ebullient 80s pop plus hip-hop flavours. The opening song “Relax” carries glorious harmonies and melodies with a rising beat. You can go all the way down to the last track for one of the other highlights. “Hold The Line” has a beautiful, flourishing sound that is sure to please. Other notable tracks are the title track and “3 Day Week-end”, both sonic charms of instant appeal, the latter could surely achieve regular airplay. Overall, this album has more theatre and depth than other French house sounds that I’ve heard. The fine production quality and cruisy feel will draw in listeners. Etienne does himself proud with these eleven tracks.
