Eve 6

The judges were right when the guys in the band were spotted by RCA while still at high school. A very rocking 1980s style has inspired these Californians into bringing it forward to the new century and they should be proud of their achievements to date. There is a growing maturity in songwriting, even though their previous self-titled album was very good. There is an energetic, catchy sound with plentiful hooks to attract. There is a noticeable outlook of experimentation with various instruments, which we might see more of next time. The sound is layered with keyboards and guitar variations. The production values are set at a high standard with the clever Don Gilmore (worked with Linkin Park and Lit) and he helps create an accomplished collection of concise melodies and a thread of light-heartedness. I can see bigger things for them, even though they’ve been slow in gaining acceptance in Australia. They are a thinking man’s band and avid music lovers should follow the band’s progress.
