:: How To Ruin Everything

Face To Face

How To Ruin Everything is the new 15-track album from Californian punk band Face To Face. Influenced by British bands like The Clash, their sound is mostly punk with a twist of pop thrown in for good measure. This album is really easy to like because it has all the elements of a good punk rock formula. It’s great to see a band producing a sound that is so likable while steering clear from the rap/rock structure that is so popular –and often over killed- at the moment. The melodic vocals of front man Trevor Keith sound similar to that of Millencolin, adding a fantastic balance between the band’s subtle guitar crunching and very catchy drum beats especially evident in “The New Way” that adds intensity to a really fine album on the whole. It’s also great to come across a band that relies more on touring heavily to create their own buzz and built their own fan base from playing excellent shows rather than having their music played on massive rotation. But a band this talented should not be hidden away in the shadows just to keep their head out of the limelight and avoid unnecessary publicity. Face To Face are an amazing band and should be appreciated by as many people as possible.
