:: How Can We Fail When We’re So Sincere

Front End Loader

This is a hard-hitting, intense return by Front End Loader. They had been absent from the Australian music scene for some time. Under the guidance of producer Magoo, they relate to strong vocal capabilities and seem to be enjoying their music again. They’ve had time to absorb the recent musical trends and bring some interesting thoughts to the fore. There is good variety with not the standard rock belters. “Sorry Day” is one such powerful and hard track to note. The strong riffs of “All I Wanted Was A Cigarette” and “Hatchet Job” are worthy also. There is a cool rush of adrenalin towards the end of the album. With this philosophy comes a risk of alienating an audience. But they have given something different for music enthusiasts to understand. The honest lyrics and speedy guitars indicate their underlying talent. Older fans of the band may notice a more textured arrangement that blends pop and rock stylings to good effect. It will be interesting to see what their next phase brings.
