:: Lydia

Fur Patrol

From this New Zealand rock band comes a very catchy song with lyrics everyone can relate to at some time in their lives. The female vocals set a sad yet sweet mood as the song tells the story of a woman dealing with heartache after being left for another woman. The singer handles this situation sadly and humbly, rather the opposite to other songs by female vocalist’s like Pink’s ‘There You Go’, Kelis’ ‘Caught Out There’ and Alanis Morisette’s ‘You Oughta Know’ that also deal with being dumped or being cheated on, but with much angrier and aggressive lyrics. Here we see Fur Patrol producing a soft and sweet song that is not as loud and angry as others in the industry, but works well to pull on the heartstrings of its listeners. An acoustic version of ‘Lydia’ also appears as a B-side on the single to create an even softer approach to the situation and a great conclusion to the tracks on the single.
