:: When Young Terrorists Chase The Sun

Gerling

If you try and distinguish Gerling's style you would have to be mad. They have fused electronic with punk then add some break beats and house and some sound samples and that still isn't what Gerling is about. The new album “When Young Terrorists Chase The Sun” has everything on it, from fast to slow chill outs. Gerling are definitely working up their reputation as one of Australia's most original sounding bands. On this album they have worked with the likes of Josh Abrahams, Fourplay and Kylie whose filtered voice appears on the song G-House Project. The first single, The Deer In You was released last year and was recorded with Abrahams. It hadn't been as popular as the previous singles, but then the second single of the album Dust Me Selecta is a different sound for
Gerling with a more dance/club scene influence and has that airy beat that becomes extremely catchy. Brother Keith on Destructor Mountain features Kool Keith freestylin throughout the song. He is basically talking about nothing but it works really well with the slow hip-hop stylings. Another song is Seprpentheadz, which is amazingly cruisy with the whole French house feel and Hot Computer which another slow house song. The whole album captures the young humour of Gerling, with their crazy antics and unusual sounds and their varied tastes.
