:: Felt MountainGoldfrappWhat a revelation this album has been! Alison Goldfrapp seems to live in her own small world, filtering out an alluring, subtle voice of extraordinary capability. These nine tracks are dreamy, melodic, and evoke a landscape of sheer beauty. It’s quite whimsical really, for this talented singer, whistler and keyboardist. She has the wonderful accompaniment of Will Gregory in arranging the strings and brass while she concentrates on the gorgeous melodies. She has gone against her previous work with Tricky to explore her own musical stance. Upon listening to “Felt Mountain”, you could sense a movie soundtrack in the wind. She’d be perfectly suited to it. Feel mesmerised to highlights like the opening track “Lovely Head”, and it won’t be hard to be absorbed into the following eight tracks. Just think of images between the themes of joy and sorrow. It’s unique and evocative with cinematic moods ready to capture your surreal mind. Be sure to feel the inner beauty and strength of this CD. |
