Goodshirt

This album has finally been released in Australia after being released in the band’s home country New Zealand for approximately eighteen months. Laden with catchy riffs ands melody-driven pop, Goodshirt appeals as a band to follow. Already, “Green” caught attention with a pop quality rare in these regions, while the Kiwis explore electronic reaches with “Place To Be” and “Catch This Light”. In fact, they resemble some magical 80s pop pieces of the time. The one track, which should have received greater recognition, is “Blowing Dirt”. It is very accessible in terms of what popular music is about and has the lovely electro tinges to go with the catchy vocals. There is a solid mix of quirky pop rock and that comes with three different songwriters in the band. With a knack for good hooks in their electro grooves and generally capable musicianship, Goodshirt demonstrate enough ability to show that their brand of pop can carry them a long way. http://www.goodshirt.co.nz
