:: Other Hours: Connick on Piano

Harry Connick Jnr

There is so much to enthuse over this jazz album – get ready to be charmed by the perfect relaxation tool! Originally composed by Connick, Jr for the 2001 New York Broadway musical ‘Thou Shalt Not’, the twelve (12) melody-driven tracks which feature on this album are emotionally captivating. Each melody is intimately and superbly interpreted by Connick, Jr’s quartet, which is drawn from his touring orchestra; (tenor saxophonist Ned “Goold, bassist Neal Caine and drummer Arthur Latin II). In fact, the manner in which this quartet interacts with one another is nothing short of brilliant! Compositions which will gracefully creep their way into your heart are “Take Advantage”, “Sovereign Lover”, and “Oh, My Dear”. This album incorporates funk, swing, and jazz, delivered with elements of grace, emotion, seduction, infectious beats, tension, enthusiasm and so much more. It is a fantastic album for the collection. For further information: www.harryconnickjr.com
