Heather Nova

Heather Nova has delivered some beautiful music over a ten-year period now. She has toured every region and with many big names. “South” is her first studio album for three years and it has the confidence and experienced shining through. This is a strong album, full of pop sensibilities, and a seemingly effortless style. Her songwriting skills are well exemplified and the added feature of her role as arranger and producer has come to the fore also. Heather’s songs have always shown her in reflective, deep moods. This aspect, plus a natural fun element, makes this album enjoyable. She had been on the road for over two years and in that time has crafted some terrific songs for this collection. A highlight is the song ”I’m No Angel”, which is co-written with ex-Suede guitarist Bernard Butler. This is indeed a rare thing, for her to co-write with anyone else. There is also the folk sound of “Virus Of The Mind”, the sweet melody of “Like Lovers Do” and the moody, mesmerising vocals on “Gloomy Sunday”. With soul-searching lyrics and her honesty shining through, fans will, once again, be able to connect to this musical experience by one of the world’s most talented singer-songwriters. http://www.heather-nova.com
