Invertigo

This Melbourne band has come on in leaps and bounds over the past eighteen months, scoring three big hits on the Australian charts and captivating crowds around Australia with their live performances. This is Invertigo’s debut album and the strength of their pop-rock prowess shows the enormous confidence gained in songwriting and performing. Great credit goes to producer Charles Fisher, who has worked with the likes of Savage Garden, in bringing his experience and expertise to the album. And apart from the chart-friendly tracks of “Chances Are”, “Desensitized” and “Say You Do”, he helps add some bite to the edgier efforts that the guys produce in the songs towards the end of the CD. The last two tracks, “Typical” and “Damage Control” see lead singer Christian Argenti and the band pull no punches in showing extra zip and attitude. With Invertigo, you can see the effective blending of youth and experience showing out well. The Leigh brothers, James (guitar) and Vince (drums) bring 80s knowledge to the songwriting craft and there is the youthful energy and charisma of Christian to fulfil the band’s requirements in delivering the messages. There is still something more to give, and this album is merely a positive step in fulfilling further dreams.
