This is a very assertive set of songs by Jessica in a worthy contemporary vibe. She is out to stamp her mark and this is a fair, though uninspiring, effort with good elements of R&B and funky moods, lapsing into plainer pop parcels. The highlight track is probably “Hot”, a fun, unpretentious track that opens up Jessica’s talent more than some of the other tracks, while “Imagination” has a solid R&B ideal. The teen-pop sound is still very much to the fore and it’s hoped that she can develop quickly into more noteworthy, classy pop music and achieve something for a wider audience. http://www.jessicasimpson.com
