K.P.Devlin

K.P.Devlin is an accomplished singer/songwriter from New York City and this is his fourth CD, on the indie label Manhattan Mule Records. I came across this album a couple of months ago and enjoyed it. There is a good variety of arrangements and he clearly enjoys performing. There is a real passion in his expression of his songs. One of the strong points is the talented set of musicians alongside K.P. Bass guitarist Kenny Aaronsen, a seasoned bass guitarist, is someone I well remember from his days with ex Rolling Stone Mick Taylor when Mick toured Australia. There is former Wings drummer Steve Holley, and Australian singer Greta Gertler on backing vocals. K.P.’s interests in poetry resonate well in his songwriting manner and this ten-track album shows purposeful emotion and sensitivity, mixed with a witty edge.
