Kiley Gaffney

Brisbane based Kiley Gaffney is a versatile musician, performer, poet and vocalist, as well as actress and comedienne. “Sweat Meat” is her second CD release and is a delicious journey through the senses. Unfortunately, we're only privy to her music talents here, but with Kiley performing and recording all the instruments herself, in her home studio, we're exposed quite a wide range. The tracks are lush, sensuous, layered and sophisticated, and at times sound reminiscent of Erykah Badu or Everything but the Girl. Her first album “Bitter Fluff” was a soundtrack to an imaginary film and there's a certain filmic undercurrent at work here too; Kiley's vocals are urbane and sultry and serve to ice the cake quite nicely. If this is the racket coming from Kiley's house on a regular basis, I'd like to move in next door.
