Laura is a phenomenon in global terms, not just in Italy. She is one of the biggest-selling female singers in the world. It is due to a wonderful clarity in her voice, seemingly effortless at times. Laura is mostly known for her emotion-filled slow songs, but this album contains a good blend of slow ballads and some uptempo tunes. Naturally, those not knowing the Italian language won’t understand the content, but by listening to the melody and phrasing, you will begin to realise her popularity. Not one for the true pop lovers, but for adults contemplating a romantic evening, it’s a nice companion. Enjoy the final song, however, “The Extra Mile”, sung in English.
