Lavaland

Lavaland seem set to become a big player in the Aussie pop world. This is my first exposure to them and I’m impressed. This single follows the same path as contemporaries such as Motor Ace and Oblivia, good solid rock with intelligent pop sensibilities. The single “Everwonder” is a catchy tune with a sing along chorus. One could imagine this track being a crowd favourite at upcoming gigs. The B-side features “Anti Lullaby”, a great track - a simple ballad about thinking about a woman late at night and not being able to sleep. The final track, “Teaser” is an overlong instrumental 4 bar blues track featuring layers of synthesisers and a simple four/four beat, possibly an experiment gone wrong. I can see this single being a big success.
