Llorca

Since launching the avant-garde sounds of St. Germain, F Communications again provide the dazzle of its French influence by revealing Llorca’s debut album. Llorca is a one-man dynamo, based in France, who composed, recorded and mixed all these tracks at his home studio. A task made simpler no doubt by virtue of the fact that most of the tracks are programmed instrumentals. Occasionally a guest vocalist or trumpet player slides seamlessly into the mix, but for the most part we're left to groove and chill to the very smooth jazz stylings of Llorca. There is a certain sophistication embellished in the first single, “My Precious Thing”, and it’s due in no small part to the vocals of LadyBird. “Indigo Blues”, the second single, is sure to please with its cool laid-back lounge bar ambience. It is beautifully sung by Nicole Graham and contains a terrific deep bass to add emotion. This CD is a must for an inner-city nightclub or café as their 6:30pm evening starter.
