:: Greedy HenLove MeNow with four albums under their belt, Sydney band Love Me remain one of the most rewarding easy-listening bands in the country. This new album is released under their own label and the thirteen songs offer something for all. They are a consummate outfit with great all-round ability to entertain and this latest album is no exception. It adds to their quality catalogue to date. This set shows Love Me expressing their thoughts succinctly and it’s proficient in class. Madeleine King’s vocals combine well with the subtle guitars of Tom Kristensen and Richard Boxhall to paint vivid pictures in the slow-paced songs. A couple of nice uptempo numbers are thrown in for variation. Tom’s vocal contribution has always been noteworthy and is no exception this time too. “Long Love Song” is an effective contribution. But you can’t single any one track here. There is depth and quality in the songwriting and artistry throughout the album and it’s one of the best I’ve heard this year. |
