Mark B and Blade

For a country famous for its processed pop music, the UK doesn‘t really feature highly in the hip-hop world. Not with any real cred anyway. Mark B and Blade are obviously on a mission to change that. It's a pity that their fine rhyming is done in a Yankee accent. I guess we're just spoilt for choice in Australia with the majority of our rappers proudly rapping in Australian these days, but I'm sure the UK rappers will catch on eventually. Linguistics aside, this is stellar hip-hop. Mark B's production is lean, clean and stays well out of the way, grooving along nicely under some very fine rapping from Blade. There's the expected amount of puff, bluff and trans-Atlantic baiting in the lyrics, especially in the single ‘You don’t see the signs’ but it's got street cred oozing out of it. All class.
