:: Lenses Of Contact

Mary Fahl

In the early-mid 1990s, there was a band I liked called October Project. They had two album releases on Epic Records and successfully toured the US and Europe, gaining a healthy following, but remaining largely underrated. What was captivating about them was the striking voice of lead singer Mary Fahl. When the band broke up, I wondered what would happen to Mary because it would be a shame to lose her talent. Thankfully, albeit several years later, sources in America alerted me to Mary’s new solo recording, “Lenses Of Contact”. It’s a four-track EP that showcases a gifted vocalist, ably backed by talented musicians. She remains very expressive and it’s not difficult to be soaked by her insightful lyrics and manner. Her voice is sheer beauty and grace. You could say that the quality throughout is very artistic and not so mainstream. It has a trance-like effect and bound to impact. We hope that this is just the start of a long, successful solo career for a beautiful singer.
