Maxwell

Much expectation surrounded Maxwell’s entry into the music world several years ago. He may have let such early accolades affect his follow-up recordings. But here, with seemingly less insistence on living up to rave reviews, he presents a simpler collection of songs, displaying subtle, tranquil music movements. There is a reflective ballad “Lifetime”, a darker, moodier “For Lovers Only” and the beautiful “Sympton Umknown”. The standard brings him back to where he stood previously and he can now be afforded the patience to progress his career and make his mark. I’d always thought he had what it takes to be noticed. While not a memorable album, these are romantic, classy songs that should pave his way to wider acceptance. http://www.maxwellnow.com
