Having already received rave reviews for her hip-hop accentuations, this double A-side single shaped up as one to listen to with a keen ear. Maya certainly knows how to perform. The infectious “Ordinary Night” is striking, simply by the film clip that features her Brazilian dance group. There is a rare vigour with this attractive Sydney girl, and it isn’t hard to be impressed. Similarly, “The Artess” emphasises May’s vocal power and strength of purpose. Its orchestral feel adds to the quality. She also co-produced the tracks and recorded them in San Francisco. She has been to the US, and naturally received great feedback for her talent. This is only the beginning of what I suspect is going to be something substantial
