:: Sick SongsMescalineMescaline are a young band turning heads around Melbourne, and this EP of 5 “Sick Songs”, recently launched at The Espy to a healthy crowd shows just why these guys are gaining quite a following. The opening track, “O.K” has its origins in U.K punk, with lead singer Luc Travers even affecting a cockney sound. “Sick Song” is a catchy title track that has a Living End sound, hopefully should get some airplay. “I.D” and “Worst Enemy” are more hardcore and feature some good rhythm play. “7000B” rounds out the EP; another pop/rock track with Brit influence. It’s more proof of the strong music scene still emerging around Melbourne. |
