My Friend The Chocolate Cake

David Bridie and his friends return after time away working on other projects to produce a typical poignant, affecting set of songs. There is a simple, caressing philosophy behind the method in which the band crafts their music. This will reach out to audiences again, creating a path through various moods. The bubbly pop of “The Mangrove Song” is an excellent highlight of the album. There are some haunting moments such as “Weep” and the subtle tones of “I Like It Like This”, which builds towards a reflective last few songs that will leave you in a gentle state of mind. With the graceful acoustic nature of the pleasant pop songs and sweet-filled rhythms, My Friend The Chocolate Cake makes a welcome return.
