Outlawz feat. 2Pac

2Pac is dead. Sad, I guess, but old news really. Never did it for me as a rapper. Sure, he had a serious flow, gangsta credentials and died in a sea of bullets, and thereby ensuring his myth lives on. But the sheer quantity of shocking releases bearing his name since he was killed has all but saturated the market and future generations will be unsure if he released anything of quality at all. The latest in the moneymaking debacle that is 2PAC’s estate is this “hip-pop” piece utilising his vocals from beyond the grave. This track, the Outlawz, is shamefully bad. It sounds like something released in 1996 by some punks in LA with a love of Dre and not much else. The beats are unoriginal and the rapping is uninspired. The addition of the 2PAC sample adds little to the track unfortunately. A cash-in gone horribly wrong.
