:: Embrace The ChaosOzomatliAppropriately titled “Embrace The Chaos”, this album does just that. Here we have an album that sounds as if it should have been two separate recordings, one a Hip Hop album and the other a traditional Mexican/Latin type album, different to anything you would have ever heard before. Both styles of music rotate between each track and what is created is a diverse arrangement that either gets you doing the salsa in or bobbing your head to the hip hop rhythm depending on which track is playing at the time. Ozomatli has taken full advantage of a range of different instruments here, with the inclusion of trumpets, trombone, violin, percussion, clarinet, saxophone, piano, guitar, as well as a touch of Drum n Bass and some rap, creating a kind of crescendo of madness as the album progresses. “Embrace The Chaos” is so interesting in its diversity that is really an experience suitable for anyone’s musical tastes, no matter what style you usually listen to. |
