Three quarters of this band will be well remembered by many as part of the Hoodoo Gurus. Led by Dave Faulkner, these experienced musicians delve into their 60s influences to create something noisy and substantial in a garage rock framework. It’s something these guys have stated that has been on their minds for a while. The results are that they worked hard in the studio to conjure up some eclectic music of the vintage nature. Some frenetic tracks give this set the right flavour of the set; with carefree drumming and roaring riffs sure to entice listeners. Tracks to note are opener “15 Kinds of Fool”, plus “Come Back Little Sheba”, “1992”, and “Stop It!” But there is plenty to like about this. The question will remain as to whether this is another one-off Dave Faulkner project. We’ll wait with interest.
