Pre-Shrunk

The funk influences are very apparent with this eccentric band displaying a typically whimsical approach. The early part of the CD certainly shows their variation in electro-instrumental pieces. Pre-Shrunk provides an energetic, punchy style on one of the best tracks, “Cookie”, but there are a few tracks of lesser standard that diminish the overall quality. It could have had a bit more edge at times. There is lots of rhythm and humour throughout, with other likeable tracks being “Mo Fo” and the catchy, looping “Picture You”. The car noise of “Friday” is also quite inventive. Generally, it’s a worthwhile effort, and their live performances will mask any weaknesses shown here, because of their knack for being attuned to crowd demands.
