Primary

Primary is one of the most original bands in Australia in not looking to play safe with their music. From the band’s inception, they have searched for particular blends and textures to enrich themselves and be favourable for their fans. Their first album “This Is The Sound” stood them in good stead for future development. This new album sees a maturity of songwriting and sweeping melodies to captivate listeners again. The last eighteen months has seen Primary develop the live show further and add to their songwriting skills. A time spent overseas last year proved invaluable in the music networking aspects where they have found even newer ideas to add to their innovative talents. “Watching The World” has been produced by band member Jamie Fonti and mixed by Chris Shaw (worked with Cypress Hill and Public Enemy). They create some simple hooks, as in “Make A Difference” to some pulsating, electronically tricky efforts as in “Love Is A Fool”. Connie Mitchell revels in giving some vocal verve to “Not For Me” that simply rocks wonderfully, while impressing favourably on the title track. The cool sounds of “Here In The Rain” and closing track “Tumbling Down” add weight to knowing that Primary have a style of their own, and reaffirms their standing as an energy-filled, creative music force in Australia.
