A very cohesive sound structure marks the talent of this young Canberra band. Plenty of addictive hooks and multi-part harmonies has seen Quick 50 score good support slots with such names as The Strokes, The Whitlams, You Am I and Eskimo Joe. This is their second EP, long awaited following their initial one three years ago. These five tracks show a knack for writing good songs. Each contributes to songwriting. Vocal duties are shared and pop sensibilities are most apparent. They have a chance to create something really worthwhile. The vocal arrangements may be the key to future success. If they can achieve the consistency and find the right, they can go places. With an emphasis on acoustic rhythm guitar, this feature could be the right path for them. There is a good look about Quick 50 and we’ll watch their progress with interest.
