:: Claude Challe presents New Oriental from the R.E.G. Project

R.E.G. Project

You would have heard of the terrific Buddha Bar and Nirvana Lounge compilation CDs that have been some of the most successful chilled compilations in the world. The man who initiated them, bringing such music to large listenerships, Claude Challe, presents this eclectic and exotic CD that fuses a romantic Arabian culture with the modern electro influences that you’d hear in Ibiza. Three young men comprise the R.E.G. Project and their sounds began to circulate amongst the clubs in Beirut, Lebanon – their homeground. Together, they modernised Arabian classics into an all-encompassing lounge/house vibe, captivating the local club goers. Already making big strides in the club scenes in Europe, this CD demonstrated enough appeal to be showcased internationally. There is a tangible strength in the set, and it’s difficult not to be entranced by the twist to the Buddha Bar style. The delicious sensuality of “Harem” and “Passion” are notable concluding tracks to leave a good impression. This continues the fine work that Challe has given over the past few years.
