Reloop

Oliver Klitzing is going under the ‘reeloop’ moniker with this single, though you can also find him going by the name of kaylab. Reloop is a dance floor friendly melodic trancer that goes straight for the clubbing jugular. Apparently, Oliver is a former A&R man and club promoter, and I can sure hear it in this track. This CD comes with eight different versions of the track, ranging from various DJ remixes to an acapella mix. The numerous mixes enable Oliver to have a bit of fun with his influences, which are often of the early 80s kind (hey Depeche Mode, over here!), of which track seven, ‘Kenji Ogura Rmx’ is my personal favourite. The menacing vocal sound bites in ‘Fu%king Society’ are matched in this remix by some harder, darker sounds. Considering that these sound bites describe a condemnation of the shallow celebrity outlook, it works quite well. ‘Fu%king Society’ also appears on the Wild Volume 17 (Wild Weekends) compilation put out by Central Station Records.
