:: Hollingworth/Chicken

ResHeads

This is a double single containing two very different tracks. The first titled ‘Hollingworth’ is a song dedicated to taking the piss out of the Reverend Peter Hollingworth and the events brought to the surface in the media recently, while according to the ResHeads, “raises spectre of children abused under the care of the church”. The song is heavily satirical, and the main chorus “Hollingworth, Hollingworth, It’s not you’re your fault” is a good example of this. The lyrics don’t go too far in terms of bad taste, although the song is definitely not targeted at commercial radio stations, as they wouldn’t take the risk of offending listeners. Although if this track were to be played on commercial radio it would become so controversial it would make the latest Prodigy single ‘Baby’s Got A Temper’ phase people just about as much as the nursery rhyme ‘Mary Had A Little Lamb’! The next track ‘Chicken’ is highly amusing with its silly vocals and funny lyrics, similar to the style of The Vandals. It’s a song about imagining what it would be like to be various farm animals and the simple beat makes you want to slap your thigh in a hyperactive fit. These two tracks are taken from the ResHeads’ new album Res-erection released last May, an album perfect for anyone who enjoys fast-paced rock music with a witty twist.
