This interesting EP comes from a Queensland band that has started to make good inroads into their local territory, having scored good support slots for visiting bands. The five songs show strong percussive tendencies, while the opening track “Knife In The Eye” relates a soft vocal and rolling guitar sound in a cool little understated beginning. It soon goes more upbeat with an instrumental, “Ockams Razor”, and building towards an epic guitar effort on “The Day Everything Was Cut In Half”. This is very good upon each listen and it shouldn’t be too long before other Australian states feel the vibe and emotion that Rival Flight provides.
