Roots Manuva

Roots Manuva is London born Rodney Hylton Smith. This is another hip-hop record offering 17 tracks of essentially similar sounding grooving and rapping. My favourite track is “Witness”, a slightly more imaginative tune reminiscent of Michael Franti’s recent releases. Roots Manuva is (if you believe his website) largely responsible for re-inventing the hip-hop genre in the UK with his ‘instant classic’ “Brand New Second Hand” release two years ago.
