Ross Wilson

The ex-Daddy Cool legend goes a bit country in another worthwhile chapter to his long and influential career. Ross co-produced this record with Nash Chambers (brother of Kasey) and he has done it independently as a means of tribute to several people throughout his career with a couple of little indulgences to boot. You will see the country and folk music tendencies here that would have been apparent even in Daddy Cool’s golden days. The track listing will immediately raise a smile with songs like (I Was On) MTV in the 80s. Ross has a little dig at himself and the industry. Yes, he was on MTV when fronting Mondo Rock and having a few hits. In fact, Mondo Rock influences are apparent. “Nothin’s Right Nothin’s Wrong” leans that way. Other interesting tracks include “It Matters To Me”, a soulful touch which Ross co-wrote with Paul Kelly. At the end, there is a song “Slimdusty.com”, a glorious tribute to the Australian country music star of the past fifty years, albeit giving Slim a technological advance. The fire is still in the belly with Ross and his fans will enjoy this album immensely. You can find out more about Ross through his website at http://www.rosswilson.com.
