:: Lost And Found

Sean Sennett

I’m immediately struck by how much this single reminds me of Dave Graney and the Coral Snakes. Sean Sennett shares a similar generic style and would definitely appeal to the discerning adult listener, yet the comparison really should end there. The single, ‘Lost and Found’, is marked by simple and subtle arrangements that manage to carry quite an emotional impact, while providing us with something to groove to. The quality continues with the two B-sides, ‘B is for Bright Light’, and ‘George Harrison’s Sunglasses’. The storytelling that drives all three songs is skilled to say the least, and I’m very impressed with the way the song structures add weight to the lyrics. In ‘B is for Bright Light’, the song fades in and then fades out at the end, which suggests that this song is but a moment in time, a theme mirrored in the lyrics. If you are looking for some music to accompany some sunny afternoon ponderings, Sean Sennett is your ally.
