:: Under A Pale Grey SkySepulturaThis is the last live performance that occurred from Sepultura prior to the departure of Max Cavalera, who went on to form Soulfly. Max was in charismatic form on this special 28-track CD, in probably the best period of the band’s career. Therefore, this release revisits an influential band and is a “must have” for Sepultura fans. The frenetic, pulsating show at London’s Brixton Academy is one of their finest moments. They cover the whole period of their existence, beginning the set with “Roots Bloody Roots”, then smashing their way through their classics, such as “Territory” and “Troops Of Doom”. They end Disc 1 with “Dusted” and “Endangered Species”. Meanwhile, the highlights of Disc 2 are “Policia” and “Orgasmatron” (the Motorhead cover). The sledgehammer guitar sound is most evident throughout and they scream loudly. Max added much power to the Sepultura flavour and they performed some fantastic live shows. Think two hours of pounding metal; of the Brazilian rhythms (remember their Brazilian nationality), and how they have influenced other bands. Sepultura ranks highly amongst the heavy rock/metal icons of the last twenty years. They were important and innovative and this 2-CD set captures the spirit and essence in documenting an appropriate piece of Sepultura history. |
