:: AnimositySevendustThey are a very capable band that had a terrific previous album “Home”. They now pick up well from there to continue a fine package of heavy metal sounds. In fact, these songs do show a progression towards a more melodic quality, though, while retaining strong elements of their usual metal focus. Sevendust hits you straight away with “Tits On A Boar”. There is a very quiet introduction to “Shine”, before building into a monstrous, belting sound. Vocals by Lajon Witherspoon again win over on songs such as “Trust” and “Damaged”, plus the soft closing track “Angel’s Son”. These “softer” songs may well help them reach a wider audience. It shouldn’t be too hard to be a fan of Sevendust. See them on their March 2002 tour of Australia with Creed. |
