:: Something More

Sinch

Lifted from the current self-titled album release, this single comes with an acoustic version of ‘Something More’ as well as a third track, ‘Plasma’, which also appears on the album. This acoustic version was specifically recorded for the Australian single release, so if you are a fan with a love of rarities, get out there and make the purchase. This song opens slowly, and then builds up into the now-standard ‘quiet/loud/quiet/loud’ format. Jamie Stem’s vocals are particularly emotive on this track and are enhanced by some subtle string arrangements. It’s kind of nice to hear strings used in this way, it makes a change from the oft-used blast of strings towards the end of a track. What makes this track differ from many in the same genre is that the emotions contained in the lyrics and the vocals sound sincere, and Jay Smith manipulates electronic sounds more competently than many working in the rock genres.
