Sophie Ellis-Bextor

This is quite an impressive and underrated album from the girl who made a super splash as vocalist on DJ Spiller’s “Groovejet”. There is an addictive dance feel throughout the set, although the quality fluctuates a little – to be expected, you’d think. Some of the highlights are “Move This Mountain” and “Everything Falls Into Place”. Sophie’s terrific voice simply glides along classily. Listen out for “Murder On The Dancefloor”. It has the makings of a big success in Europe especially. She is quite an intriguing entertainer and one to watch because I think she has the potential to make a big mark on the dance-pop scene. The sassy style and infectious rhythms support her sumptuous appearance. And don’t underestimate the fact that she wrote/co-wrote all eleven tracks. They are real songs with fine pop dynamics. Sophie is sure to transcend different parts of the globe because she has a gorgeously effortless voice to match her very attractive looks.
