Staind are the newest really big thing to come from the USA. They‘re a metal band going places and with influential friends (Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit heard them and promptly had them signed to his label - kind of a John Farnham/Southern Sons situation). “It's Been Awhile” will certainly do no harm to their growing popularity. From the oft use 'power ballad’ genre it‘s a sure fire hit and it's been getting some airplay on the Triple M network (if only they showed this support for new/struggling Aussie bands!). According to lead singer Aaron Lewis the song is about doing the things you should be doing more often. An acoustic version of this follows which basically sounds identical. The third song is an older track from their debut 'Dysfunction’ CD. This is metal lovers‘ heaven, showing us all the sort o heavy riffing that prompted Fred Durst to 'discover’ them.
